SANDERLIN
VIEW

Built in the 1990s, this two-level house is a contemporary style not often found in the Big Canoe community. While it contained a large amount of square footage over three levels, only the main floor and loft had ever been completely finished.

While the setting atop Sanderlin Mountain, the highest mountain in Big Canoe, was great, the interior was dated, still containing original purple and black bathroom fixtures and tile and 1990s contemporary accents throughout.

The semi-enclosed kitchen was opened further to integrate better with the foyer and living room, the lower level was finished to provide additional living, bedroom and bathroom space, and all interior surfaces was refinished. This included all new bathrooms, a new, larger kitchen, all new hardwood floors, new lighting, landscaping, and much more. To blend the stark contemporary style better with the natural setting in the mountains, subtle organic elements such as natural beams, stone around the fireplace, and botanical wallpaper accents were added.
